Rob Collings is a principal at Cool Hair LLC. He specializes in special event coordination and management. He also has a broad automotive and aviation technical knowledge and is a highly valued member of the team. Rob’s strength comes from his ability to create and market unique life experience programs that have a lasting impact on participants. Most recently, he developed a unique program that allows civilians the opportunity to experience supersonic flight in a Collings Foundation owned F4 Phantom jet over international waters.
Not content to rule the skies, Rob is also an International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and Grand American Racing Series rated driver and has competed in endurance races at major events like the Grand-Am Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona or The American LeMans Series 12 Hours of Sebring. In addition to helping to design and coordinate special events for Cool Hair LLC, Rob will be one of the lead drivers for Cool Hair Racing.
A graduate of Babson College, Rob is also a licensed pilot who soloed in a Stearman biplane at age 16 and went on to get his Citation jet certificate at age17. Currently he has more seat time than just about anyone—2,600 hours—in the last flying four-engine World War II B-24 Liberator aircraft and also has over 1,100 hours piloting B-17s. Rob is also a certified FAA flight instructor and pilot rated in a wide range of aircraft types.
The significant amount of flight time Rob has been able to log is the result of a unique life experience program developed by Rob as a principal at his family’s Collings Foundation, The Wings of Freedom Tour (The Collings Foundation’s mission is explained in greater detail in the appendices of this plan). Rob and the Foundation have repeatedly been profiled in the media, including a feature article in AutoWeek magazine’s issue celebrating Ford’s Centenary. |
